20s Steampunk Goggles-Glasses with Clip On Shades Sunglasses Costume Halloween

A very unusual pair of glasses! The bridge of the glasses has a leather strap that circles the nose bridge a few times and then snaps closed. As you can see by the last picture, this contraption can be easily removed by prying open two metal prongs. The strap may have been a home made device, in the first place. The leather strap has almost broken in two around the snap, so if you like, you could sew it or glue the tear. The clip ons are also a weird mish mash...it looks like the frame was larger and then clamped for smaller lenses. The clip on lenses are in mint condition (glass) but the prescription lenses on the glasses have a chip. The arms of the glasses have slight embellishments near the temples, as does the clip on frames. I just saw these worn by the sheriff in the next to last scene of the movie: Oh Brother, Where Art thou?

Measurements:

Glasses lenses are 1. 5 inches wide and tall
Arms are 4. 75 inches long, but can be bent to accomodate a greater length, if needed, or swapped out with other arms.
From hinge to hinge measures 5 inches across

Clip on lenses are 1. 75 inches across. As you can see there is a bend in the joining metal bar to accomodate larger glasses.

shatter- proof case included (new).
