Zuni Black Bear Fetish Pendant with Turquoise by Navajo Artist Henry Yazzie

Bear fetishes are used for healing and protection, strength and journeying, as well as hunting/gathering. When the bear rises from hibernation it is a reminder of waking oneself from within and allowing sleep and rest when a journey is over.

The beaded stones are chrysocolla and turquoise (not sure about black beads). The rear clasp and bail clasp (on bear) are sterling silver and it is detailed with turquoise and red jasper. We were told the bear is goose stone but we cannot verify.
