One of the most beautiful of aloha dress styles: by 1960’s Alice of Polynesia,
in cotton barkcloth.

Interesting multifaceted design: In the front looks like a cap sleeve pencil maxi with a long front center slit, and flattering gathered bust finished with a knot accent.

Interior stillspringy bralike elastic clasp nips the empire waist from the back action:
A high volume iconic (“waterfall”) Watteau train, cascading below an alluring low scooped back.

Deeplysaturated jeweltoned florals makes the dress even more of a stunner, the offwhite background pops in black light shenanigans…

Marked vtg Small but IMO runs larger:
Approx 3840” chest when interior elastic is buckled; and has some extra fluidity from the open back waterfall design.
Underbust seam is a subtle semicircle:
11” from outer shoulder seam to outer empire waist seam;
13” from inner shoulder seam to center empire waist seam where bow accent is located.
59” long from shoulder seam;
1. 75” hem allowance;
Hips open;
13” arm holes;
5. 5” cap sleeves.

Exceptional condition with paper tag still intact. All I see is a small very faint stain at the base of one of the big floral prints, located at the back drapery (only showing when pulled out and looking hard, last photo).

This dress has some weight to it, from the generous amount of cotton barkcloth that creates the dramatic waterfall back structure,
