The 1956 Sears winter catalog called a similar hat a "halo" hat (see photo). The other similar in shape hat in this photo montage wasn't given a name! So call it what you want. Bucket, cone, funnel, lampshade, Flower Pot or halo. It's ever-so-50s Mid Century Modern in design. Neutral sewn straw, so very well done but STRAW AND VELVET? All at once?! Surely meant to be Spring / Summer headwear. Very High Fashion. By Valerie Modes. CONDITION: no flaws but cleaned-up label is darker than it once was.
