Beautiful deep black novelty cable knit collared cardigan sweater by Nelson Knitting Mills. Circa 1950s.

Cropped length with bracelet length sleeves with contrasting chunky knit ribbed cuffs. The sweater bottom features the same contrasting bottom ribbed cuff.

The collar and both front plackets are a smaller ribbed knit.

Does up the center front six flat 3/4" diameter black moonglow lucite buttons as pictured.

The sweater is unlined.

DESIGNER LABEL: Nelson Knitting Mills, Duluth, Minn.

Nelson Knitting Mills was founded in approximately 1883 and was known for school letter sweaters and the first socks with a red heel which were used for sock monkeys.

CONDITION: Very Good - No pills, stains, odors, discoloration, fading, rips, holes, or tears. The only thing is some degrading of the elastic in the bottom and sleeve cuffs which is common in these sweaters that are 60 plus years old.

Freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

SIZING: There are no size tags. I'd say this lovely sweater would fit a modern size Medium best, but please go by the measurements below.

MEASUREMENTS:

Shoulders: 16-1/2" approximately

Outer Sleeve: 17-5/8" (includes 1-1/2" wide cuffs)

Inner Sleeve: 12" - underarm to sleeve end

Bust: 37" Underarm to Underarm

Waist: 36"

Bottom: 32" to 36" Stretched Comfortably

Length: 19" - Top of Shoulder to Sweater Bottom (Includes 1-1/2" Wide Ribbed Bottom Cuff)
