Until the late 60’s gloves were not worn for warmth but as part of a well-dressed woman’s ensemble, even for everyday wear. They were meant to be purely decorative and often made of very fine leather. This extraordinary UNWORN pair of fancy black & white embroidered gloves is no exception. Made by Wilkins, the gloves are a size 6. 5, quite small. They are amazingly delicate, with fine embroidery stitches, white scallop edges at the wrist, and delicate darts along the top of the hand. They are unlined, and have a cream bakelite snap under the wrist.
