50s/60s Rose Floral Print Dress Full Skirt Illusion Bodice

This pink and green roses floral print fit-and-flare dress from the early 1960s features an illusion bodice in pale green, sheer nylon chiffon, which also extends all the way down the dress hem over the floral fabric underneath. The under-layer of floral print cotton peeks through on the straight, strapless bodice and the knee-length, full skirt. An avocado green velvet ribbon trims the front bodice, just below the bust. Shown here with a very fluffy crinoline (not included), the dress could probably accommodate an even larger one. The round neckline of the sleeveless illusion bodice fastens in back with a single small hook. Below, a metal zipper closes the dress at the center back.

In good, wearable condition, the dress has been repaired across the top of each shoulder. Our skilled seamstress-helper took the shoulder seams up just a bit, to remove and hide as much of the discoloration there as possible. Therefore the dress might not work for a person with larger upper arms (*see arm opening measurement). There is also one very faint mark on the upper bodice, and some discoloration along the edges of the arm openings’ seams, plus a repair at the edge of the left arm opening. None of these issues are likely to be noticed except under bright lighting. It has been freshly dry-cleaned, and has no odors or other issues to note. This sweet floral print, full-skirted 1960s dress is a proportionally bit smaller at the bust than at the waist--our last photo shows it unpinned from the mannequin, to give a better idea of its shape. Please check the measurements carefully, and feel free to get in touch with any questions!
