This necklace is large and gaudy. It is a bright gold metal. The chain measures 17 inches long. The three, dangling tassel pendant measures 4 inches. The three tassel and mid-century style components measure 2 and 3 inches. The thick bail measures .75 inch. The necklace is weighty, but not heavy. The hook has the makers mark and the end of the chain has a bright gold, half inch gold ball to catch the hook.

This metal necklace is circa 1970 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time, Trifari. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products. This style of accessory was usually worn at fancy cocktail parties, which were very popular at the time. Sometimes, these over the top pieces were known as, " cocktail" jewelry.
